It was a big night. I was taking Teague to the Christmas Ball, and I had a special gift for her. I was all dressed up and waiting for her in the dorm. I looked up and saw her coming down the stairs. She was wearing a black dress with heels. I can still recall the quickening of my heart, as I watched her come down the stairs. Later that evening, I gave her my fraternity drop. We were officially a couple.
“When one finds a worthy wife, her value is far beyond pearls. She reaches out her hands to the poor and extends her arms to the needy. Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting; the woman who fears the Lord is to be praised” (Proverbs 31: 10, 20, 30).
Lord, thank you for this woman.
