He stopped me as I was walking to the back of the church to begin mass. He wanted to know more about “Why Catholic?” “Why Catholic?’ is a parish-based process of evangelization and adult faith formation, through small Christian communities. It invites us to explore how our faith affects the way we see ourselves, and our purpose in life, both as individuals and as a community.” (Renew International) I explained to him that a group met after mass in the parish hall, and I then asked him if he would like for me to order him a book. He asked, “How much is the book?” Something told me that the cost could be a problem, so I told him that I would buy the book.
Yesterday, I gave him his book, and I got to join the group as they discussed forming the conscience. It was an enriching time. There were times we thought, shared, discussed, and prayed as a group. I thought to myself there is community being built here.
When our time was up, and we were putting up the chairs and going our separate ways. He stopped me and said, “Thank you for this book!”
I was blessed.
