One of the special blessings that I have already received from this Lenten writing devotion is the encouragement I have received. Thank you all.

Words of encouragement are something that I need. They lift me up. When I receive words of encouragement from someone like Teague who I love and is very special to me, my heart actually feels like it is soaring.

Giving encouragement to others is a blessing that we can all do for one another, but receiving it can also be a blessing. Has anyone ever encouraged you, and you dismissed it? In other words, you didn’t receive the blessing they were trying to give you. I know I’ve done this many times. Sometimes it’s false humility bearing its ugly head. It takes humility to receive as well as give.

I’m going to try and encourage more and receive encouragement better. Giving glory to God for the grace to do both.
